ABSORBANT FLOOD BAGS

The Flood Bag Defender is a sturdy jute sack containing a water absorbent material inside, which is retained in a finely-woven inner bag. After inflation by soaking in water for 5-6 minutes, bags weigh 13-14 kg and measure 54 cm X 31 cm X 10.5 cm high.

The bags need to be submerged so that they absorb the water and inflate.

If flooding has already started, bags can be laid in the flood water to soak it up.

The Bags are used in the construction of flood defences, in a similar way to traditional sandbags. They can be used to form a dam, or to build a flood defence barrier. Used in combination with plastic sheeting will increase efficiency and reduce any seepage.

The bags can absorb 20 litres of water in under 3 minutes and are bio-degradeable.
