JACKSON STAFF WIN COMPANY AWARDS

21st April 2004

TWO Jackson’s employees have received prestigious awards in recognition of their hard work and commitment.

Each year the company presents awards in memory of two former Jackson’s employees who were killed in a car crash. Nick Grewcock was Lincoln branch manager and his colleague Patrick Gilboy worked as group kitchen designer.

Louise Copley, who joined Jackson’s as group merchandiser in July 2002, was named winner of the Patrick Gilboy New Employee of the Year Award.

Louise, who lives in Nottingham, previously worked as a merchandiser for the design team of the CWS Group concentrating principally on shop re-fit work.

Joint managing director Simon Jackson, who awarded the accolades, said: “Louise’s enthusiasm, ambition and strength of personality shone through during my meeting with her and I was very pleased to make her the winner of this award.”

The Nick Grewcock Management Trainee of the Year Award went to Paul Foster, 23, who works at Lincoln as a management trainee.

He joined the company after spending four years with the Next retail group. Now in his second year, Paul impressed judges by producing a training guide as part of a work-based project and presentation which he submitted as his competition entry.

Mr Jackson said he had no hesitation in awarding the honour to Paul. “I am sure everyone will join me in wishing congratulations to them both,” he added.
