EXPERT HELP IS ON HAND AT JACKSON’S

22nd July 2004

PEOPLE concerned about building regulations can be sure of getting the very best advice when they visit their local branch of Jackson Building Centres.

The company recently held a seminar to bring staff up to date with the latest changes to the Part E Building Regulations so they can pass on detailed information to their customers.

Part E focuses on acoustics in buildings, particularly adjoining ones and those with multiple occupancy. The regulations exist to restrict the transmission of noise and apply not only to new buildings but also to existing ones whenever they are extended or altered.

Key suppliers of specialist materials designed to reduce noise gave presentations and the seminar was also addressed by Boston Borough Council’s building control manager Simon Sandland-Taylor.

About 50 senior Jackson employees attended the event at the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln. Jackson’s marketing manager Colin Bartleet said: “The seminar offered the opportunity for staff to hear from industry experts exactly what the law requires.

“It is important that we keep right up to date with any changes to these regulations so we can give the best advice to our customers,” he added.
