LEEDS - NEW ACQUISITION
2nd April 2007
Jackson Building Centres, the Lincoln based builders merchant, is continuing to strengthen its position with its latest acquisition.
The announcement comes just a couple of months after the company acquired two Smith Bros (York) Limited and Total Timber and Building Supplies Limited and Brickworld Limited.
The newly acquired Classic Hardware Limited in Leeds is now the 24th company under Jackson’s operation. This latest acquisition is part of an on-going investment programme, which has included improvements at many of the Jackson’s branches, and most recently, at the company’s Lincoln Branch, where a major refurbishment of the showroom was completed.
Classic Hardware Limited is a distributor of ironmongery products to housebuilders in the Yorkshire and East Midlands area. Derek Rossin, sales director, will be taking operational responsibility for the business, following a three-month handover over period with the previous owners, Graham and Tracy Taylor. Peter Robinson will assume the role of branch manager. Peter was previously in the assistant manager role prior to the takeover and brings with him many years of experience in the architectural ironmongery and hardware business.
Simon Jackson, Joint Managing Director commented: “We see great expansion potential for this branch through making the service they offer available to our existing customer base. Leeds is an extremely vibrant city, which has seen tremendous growth in recent years, and we are delighted to have a presence there. We look forward to working with the team at Classic Hardware to develop the business further and we welcome them to the Jackson Group. “
