JACKSON’S EMPLOYEE AWARDS

1st May 2007

Jackson Building Centres has awarded two of its employees with prestigious awards - The Patrick Gilboy New Employee of The Year Award and The Nick Grewcock Management Trainee of The Year Award - in recognition of their hard work and commitment.

This year’s Patrick Gilboy New Employee of The Year Award has been won by Adam Pinnell of Jackson’s Lincoln Branch. Adam is the Heaveyside Transport Supervisor at Lincoln. Having previously worked for one of Jackson’s customers, he was employed by the company as an assistant in the Heaveyside Transport department after demonstrating an excellent ability to use his initiative. He was later promoted into his current role as supervisor after his predecessor left the company.

Simon Jackson, Joint Managing Director commented: “Adam has done a tremendous job as supervisor in a very important and demanding role, controlling the ten vehicles operating out of the Lincoln yard. His determination to succeed and his ambition to further his career in the company marked him out as a very worthy winner of the award.”

Katie Shackleton was this year’s winner of The Nick Grewcock Management Trainee of The Year Award. Katie joined Jackson’s Newark Branch as Showroom Management Trainee and then spent a short time at the Lincoln Branch before moving to Louth to run the showroom department. As the only member of staff in that department, Katie has shown tremendous foresight in producing a comprehensive list of all items on display in the showroom, which has ensured that all members of staff are in a position to advise prospective customers during Katie’s absence.

Simon Jackson commented: “Katie’s enthusiasm for all the products she sells has produced real results in terms of additional business, and her colleagues are delighted with her progress in the branch, making her the obvious choice to win this prestigious award.”

He continued: “I would like to congratulate both Adam and Katie, and indeed all those members of staff nominated for this year’s awards. Their interest and keenness to succeed with the company has really shone through during my meetings with them and I hope they will keep up the excellent work.”

Adam and Katie were both awarded with a trophy and a cheque for £500 presented by Simon Jackson.
