GOLD REWARD FOR JACKSON STAFF
8th October 2008
Eleven dedicated employees of East Midlands based builder’s merchant, Jackson Building Centres, have clocked up a combined total of over 230 years’ service!
Michael Bishop, Kate Hart, Andy Pilborough, Roy Tobin and Peter Saunders from Lincoln, David Green and David Toyne from Grimsby, Eileen Senior of Skegness, Paul Bullivant of Chesterfield, Mark Kitchin of Boston and Robert Walker and Stephen Winters from Scunthorpe and Grantham were presented with gold watches last month as a reward for 21 years with the company.
Peter Saunders, a Timber Estimator at Jackson Building Centres’ Lincoln branch, has been employed by the company for 22 years and is proud to have received his 9ct gold Rotary watch.
Peter said: “It’s very prestigious to be awarded with the watch and it’s the achievement it marks that makes it so important.
“I initially joined the branch as a warehouseman in the building yard without any experience but have since worked in various departments, managing the telephone sales office and the decorating department in Lincoln.”
Peter, who will be moving to the Hykeham branch later this year, added: “The Jackson family have been fantastic to work for; it’s always been a good family business.”
Colin Bartleet, Marketing Manager at Jackson Building Centres, said: “It’s great that we can celebrate and reward the hard work and loyalty of the staff, especially those who have been a part of the team for over 21 years or more.
“We really value our employees and are pleased that so many choose to stay with us for such long periods of their working careers.”
Val originally joined the company in 1980 working in the machine room before moving over to the purchase department some years later.
