MANAGER AND ENGINEER APPOINTED AT NEW JAK HIRE CENTRE
10th September 2008
Boston’s Jackson Building Centres is all set for the launch of its hire centre expansion following the appointment of a Hire Centre Manager and Engineer.
The Jak Hire Centre, built within the existing branch, will open on 1st September 2008 bringing a new range of power tools and equipment, from hand drills to JCBs, available for hire.
Danny Murphy (25), of Boston, has worked at the branch as a Counter Assistant for one-and-a-half years and is delighted to have been appointed as Hire Centre Manager.
After working at a builders’ merchants several years ago, Danny then worked at Enterprise Rent-a-Car for four years before joining Jackson.
Danny is already looking forward to the challenges his next role will bring: “I’ll be responsible for setting the department up, making it look presentable and getting it on its feet before building a solid customer base," said Danny.
He added: “I think setting up the department will be particularly challenging as tool hire can be like running a business within a business.
“We’ll start by working with people in the trade and bigger companies, and will then look toward targeting the retail sector.”
Colin Trigg (49), from Boston, currently works alongside Danny as a Counter Assistant at the branch and will be joining the Jak Hire Centre as its Engineer.
Having been at the branch for eight years after leaving Jewson where he worked as a yardman, Colin will be responsible for servicing the hire equipment and handling tool deliveries and returns.
“I think the new centre will increase our customer base and improve the store as we’ll cover everything in one building,” Colin remarked.
Boston Branch Manager Dan Sullivan is also feeling positive about the new hire centre expansion.
“In the current climate it’s pleasing to see that Jackson’s is continuing to invest in the Boston branch,” said Dan.
